The Tongan delegation to China arrived safely in Guangdong, China on Tuesday 8, reported by the Prime Minister’s office.
The purpose of the 10 day tour Delegation’s visit is to promote mutual understanding between Tonga and China and to strengthen solidarity and cooperation for the benefit of the Chinese and Tongan people.
PMO reports that apart from meeting with top Chinese officials, the delegation will tour different industries – such as tourism, agriculture, fisheries, and infrastructure.
16 members included in the delegation (fifteen-man, and one-woman) four Cabinet Ministers, seven Parliamentarians, and five government officials. It is reported that they have arrived safely and already started on the first leg of a 10-day tour.
The delegation is led by Deputy Speaker of the House, Lord Tu’i’āfitu and Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Siaosi Sovaleni, on the invitation of the Chinese Government.
