The Tongan government has again extended the state of emergency regulations.
The Minister of Police says the extension is necessary because public order continues to be seriously threatened.

In this article, the Prime Ministers office says that the Police and "Other People" have been subjected to threats, then how does the extension of the state of emergency solve the problem.
How is the government dealing with solving the threats to the police and "Other Citizens".
I would assume that this is being investigated and charges can be expected to be laid.
These charges will then be placed against individuals that have breached the state of emergency...right?
If the government is telling us the truth, then we can expect the government to be vigilant against these law breakers...right?
But if the government is telling us lies, then the government should be subjected to breaking the law. Yes if this is not true then the government has deliberatley misled the people.
If the government's claim that the police and "others" are receiving threats are false, then this is also a breach of the emergency powers too. Yes?
Will someone stand up and sue the government if they are lying to the public and causing emergency powers to continue?
Fakatafa, Yes Yes Yes, another problem is actually shop keepers and business people are encouraging the government to extend the powers as they seem to enjoy seeing the people "paid back" for the destruction of their shops.
They claim the young people are roaming around the streets drunk looking for trouble and fighting like they do between schools.
I tend to agree with you, this is nothing but a smoke screen to cover something ugly in government.
Question, if "True" democracy had it's glory in Tonga would the current leadership be elected? No?
That would take away the current leaderships "Glory" and "Status" and "Power"? Yes?
and remove their huge pay packets? yes?
Then it would make sense for them to delay or squash any attempt to install this system? Yes?
Would it then pay not to have a referendum? Yes?
So that then is how it is today? Yes?
But hang on, Tonga does not have any money, so we are all to now to love the chinese? yes?
Look at the smile of Feleti when he knew he was getting some millions and shook hands with the chinese guy, yes?
Wait for the reaction from the people when they find out what the money is really for, yes?
So basically, to sue the government would be to sue the chinese.

Fakatafa,
Thanks for the thoughtful response to the above article.
When the article states,
the Prime Ministers office says that the Police and "Other People" have been subjected to threats, then how does the extension of the state of emergency solve the problem.
We need to analyse the statement on its own accord. Who are the "other people"? "What kind of threats"??? This is not a new wave of behaviour for kids and young people roaming around town at night time. I will in fact question the validity of the statement.
Underneath all these, I think there is a political agenda to crush the Demo supporters NOT to hold public meetings and of course an ego game!

Fool on them (The Fale Koloa owners) hehehehe.
Emergency powers have only served at reducing trade. The presence of police, and TDS over the past 7 months have only scared shoppers and most importantly tourists from spending their pa'anga.

Their claim may well be true. But that has always been the case. Yes? Just look around the park next to the market place. Unemployment in Nuku'alofa will attract trouble to the capital....idle minds and idle bodies result in lazy attitudes...drinking...fighting and, lack of money leads to theft.

Ahhhh...something ugly in the government?? surely not!
If the PM Dr Sevele was so confident that he himself would be re-elected next year as a peoples rep, then i'm sure political reform would be implemented now.
Why else would you defer to have political reform? One would only defer it if he has something to lose.
Do you think Dr Sevele would be re-elected next year??
Imagine if reform was to take place now. Then elections next year...Sevele would not get elected as a peoples rep, that would leave him out of the race to be appointed as PM/cabinet minister right??
Any wonder he is defering reform until 2011. I think that he is due to retire then huh??

The 100 million loan from China will break Tonga. But conversely it will make Sevele and the King very wealthy.
Yes.. the 100 million doesn't go into Tonga's economy. It goes onto the balance sheet of the king and the Prime Minister. Capital assets expansion of private assets.
Fakatafa,
Are you wearing a pair of red coloured glasses? It is obvious you can't see beyond your toes. Your mind has been polluted and brain washed hence overflowed through your talk. You can't help yourself but spewing garbbage!!!!
My advise to you, wear a different pair of coloured glasses so you can see beyond the obvious!!! Stop acting like a spoilt little mouse!!!!
"IT IS NOT MY FAULT THAT YOU BEHAVE LIKE 3RD WORLD IDIOT.."

Sorry Feleti,
Did you have a point here? I must have missed it. I wasn't blaming you for my behaviour Feleti, I will take responsibility for my own actions.
Since you raised the issue of behaviour and accountability for ones owns actions- Don't you feel it’s a disgrace that the PM fails to apply your principals rightly noted above? One would expect a good strong leader of a nation to be accountable for the events of 16/11 and for failing to secure the capital from destruction.
I mean really Feleti, its not our fault that your mentor behaved like an idiot leader of a third world banana republic now is it??
Unless of course he has a reason for such action...that is....One would have expected a good leader to not only take responsibility for what happened, but also stand down in view of his failures to demonstrate good leadership.
I'm sure your mentor has 100 million reasons for
not standing down,
not progressing with politcal reform and
not defending himself against such allegations ...

You have gone too far. The title of the conversation is "Tonga extends state of emergency".
You do not seem to provide reasonable argument. Also you do not seem to be principled enough to argue your points systematically. You seem to talk like 'akilisi, 'uliti, and the like. Talking without any reasonable argument.
Toe foki 'o ako pea ke toki foki mai 'o lea mai kiate au.

Its apparent you are taking lessons from your mentor in evading issues and misleading the public.
Since you have now come back on track with this thread, could you please explain who are the "
Others" as noted in the report by the PMO's office that are
receiving threats, and what exaclty are those
threats?
Malo
Fakatafa, that is not the issue.
However, If you'd like me to discuss the following with you: Your quote: "Since you have now come back on track with this thread, could you please explain who are the "Others" as noted in the report by the PMO's office that are receiving threats, and what exaclty are those threats?", I'm quite happy to meet you in person, have a discussion over a cuppa coffee and I'll tell you all about it.
Let me know who you are and address and I'll be delighted to meet you.

Fakatafa, Feleti doesn't have to answer your question, right?
This is not a place to dialogue government issues. If you claim to be an intellect why don't you call the PM for an appointment? Why don't you do the right thing? Why do you have to hide behind a fake name? If you are a man, come forward and talk face to face. Do not act like a fakaleiti moe bullshit!

Sorry, who are you?
Pleasure to meet your acquaintance.
Im not sure of why you have chosen to but in on Feleti. I'm sure he has the capacity to defend himself without your assistance.
Or is it that you have a need to control other peoples lives, right down to their dialogues, including what they can and can't say?
Anyway...as you were saying...Feleti has offered to discuss this over a cup of coffee. I'm not sure why you feel the need to intervene. Are you denying him the right to attend or discuss the issue in this forum are you?
KF, I could just imagine your version of democracy...
Those that have last names beginning with "M"- you are permitted to mim* on Monday.
Those that have last names beginning with "T"- you are permitted to ta'* on Tuesday.
Those that have last names beginning with "K" - you are permitted to have kai p*** on a day nominated by the king...
Offenders will be arrested under the ongoing emergency powers and all evidence will remain property of the crown.
Quote:This is not a place to dialogue government issues
Oh dear! ...KF.....how embarrassed the real Kalfi must be having supporters like yourself that negate the freedoms and rights for Tongans that he has fought for over the years.
I can imagine someone tapping you on your shoulder right now and whispering in your ear...."Excuse me...This is a Political Forum!!..."
Suggestion Kalafi's Fan look up the definition of what a political forum is! but do that after you finish eating the rest of your yam.
Then when you have finished brush your teeth, change your uli mahi and go to bed. Because you are too young to be looking at issues like these.
Quote:Do not act like a fakaleiti moe bullshit!
Sounds like you have a severe case of Homophobia...what is your solution for fakaleiti's? Allow emergency powers to arrest and incarcerate them (not to be confused with castrate) until they renounce their ways?
Or maybe its time that you come out of the closet eh?
PM please allow me to comment on the above topic: Tonga extends state of emergency: my questions are:
1. Why?
2. Why?
3. Why?
Do you have a thrill seeing the people's representatives suffer?
Have you realised the social, and economical repurcussions of extending emergency laws in Tonga?
How many overseas investors have been put off investing their time, and money in Tonga due to the perception of instability comes with the extension of emergency laws?
Isn't it your primary goal to seek economic growth for Tonga?
Or, is your ego too big than your vision?
Can you tell me why why why the stupid extension continues to exist?
Please answer me!!!!
