“FIHRDM Inc. applauds the resignation of Hon. Paul Karalus from Minister of Transport”

The Friendly Islands Human Rights and Democracy Movement Inc. applauds the resignation of the Hon. Paul Karalus from Minister of Transport following the tragedy in the sunken vessel, MV Princess Ashika last week claiming lives of many people in the kingdom.

Speaking on behalf of the Movement, Director Siosiua Po’oi Pohiva said Karalus’ resignation is timely and most appropriate whilst the intended Independent Commission of Inquiry fulfils its designated task.

“At this point of time it is crucial to ensure the integrity and independence of the Commission of Inquiry and that the process and progress of their investigation is transparent from time to time until the matter is fully resolved”, said Pohiva.

Pohiva said this calamity really warrants the resignation of those that were closely involved in the purchase and operation of the vessel and thankfully it is the Minister for Transport who has taken the lead. ENDS

Go hard FIHRDM and put pressure as much as you can on PM Poti. The resignation

process has two end points here. One is held by PM Poti and one is held by Paul

Karausi. So both should go! xoxoxoxoxo!
the WHOLE of cabinet should go as they collectively made the decision.. Kau atu kiai moe Minister Paanga, as he has the ultimate authority to sign off on all public funds. The transaction would not have occurred without Finance and Reserve Bank !... If he has any scruples, he would have questioned and insisted on another assessment, as he did when Poti tried to force the Retirement Fund Board to buy the piece of land where the burnt Molisi was located !...
