Government finally agreed to meet with the PSA to discuss the grievances of the members after the PSA submitted a letter to the Prime Minister on Tuesday 24th July, 2007 requesting the last opportunity for talks to avoid any industrial action.
The first meeting will start next Thursday 02nd August 2007 with the Hon. Minister for Public Enterprises and Information, Mr. Afu’alof Matoto, on behalf of Government. The discussions will be based on the grievances of the PSA over the 2005 Memorandum of Understanding breached by Government and other issues of serious concern to the PSA as detailed in the PSA petition to the King on the 06th July 2007.
In the 2005 strike, the public servants had only given Government 3 working days notice before they went on strike. This time the PSA had been requesting for months for dialogue will do its utmost to avoid another strike given the fragile nature of our beloved country’s economy.
The PSA is grateful for this opportunity with the hope that they would be able to compromise with Government on something which would be beneficial to both parties to avoid any industrial action against Government.

Let's say, there is no point for this dialogue. That's another way of buying more time until their cook is well done. Why did the govt took 21 months to make this decision? Are they that slack!!!! I'm still adamant at why the Prime Minister does not even want to meet PSA face to face? Scared? Guilt? or bigheaded!!!!
