Members...the only thing I can say now is that I am absolutely astounded by the fact that Tnews has fallen into the wrong hands and offered to publicize ‘Apolosio’s monstrous lie. I am telling you right now that there was no ground for this incident to be portrayed as news in the eyes of journalism. Lack of evidences and Tnews totally failed in its duty to undertake full investigation to come up with the truth. Its process of information gathering was not enough and it was really unprofessional. I went through the clip four times and what came to my mind was that Tnews took it for real that because Apolosio was in Dubai therefore his claim was true therefore it was news for the public. That is the shortfall I want to raise here for the forum to look at. Anybody can make up his own story including spending millions of dollars to anywhere in the world just to gain public people’s trust for whatever reasons.
I now know that Apolosio is suffered from something like long memory loss or psychiatric disorder so may I ask that we please ignore him. Hange ko e lau - Tukunoa’i pe tau fu’u vale he! Tnews should have gone further and interviewed the company that was dealing with Apolosio. As the issue was very sensitive and really of public interest cross-questioning should have been used like asking - Apolosio what happened to that multi-million dollars construction that been built in Vava’u and left unfinished there way back 1990s? If there was any - How much did he deposit? Any receipt? Than from there Tnews should have flown to Tonga. Interview those people in the government who are in charge of such a project. There was no posts that was of members concerned as much as this issue with Salesi Toki. People started to question ‘Apolosio and his big pulusiti project? I am grateful of the Kele’a for not running Apo's story. It’s one of the very basic things in media studies to consider the reputation of the media when relaying news. Because if it misleads the public like what Apo is doing that would be detrimental to its profile and public trusts. Thank you Kele’a for your fakapotopoto lahi!
But I think what drove Tnews to run this biggest bullSITI as news was the fact that Apolosio was really insistent and persistence in the way he hassled the media to consider his pretention campaign as news. I can’t believe that Setita was so naive as to trust ‘Apolosio. Because from the beginning he signed up by the name Salesi. After a while he came in as Salesi Apolosio. I successfully bluffed my way through in arguing with him and he ended up admitting that his name was Salesi Apolosio Toki.

Members...the only thing I can say now is that I am absolutely astounded by the fact that Tnews has fallen into the wrong hands and offered to publicize ‘Apolosio’s monstrous lie. I am telling you right now that there was no ground for this incident to be portrayed as news in the eyes of journalism. Lack of evidences and Tnews totally failed in its duty to undertake full investigation to come up with the truth. Its process of information gathering was not enough and it was really unprofessional. I went through the clip four times and what came to my mind was that Tnews took it for real that because Apolosio was in Dubai therefore his claim was true therefore it was news for the public. That is the shortfall I want to raise here for the forum to look at. Anybody can make up his own story including spending millions of dollars to anywhere in the world just to gain public people’s trust for whatever reasons.
I now know that Apolosio is suffered from something like long memory loss or psychiatric disorder so may I ask that we please ignore him. Hange ko e lau - Tukunoa’i pe tau fu’u vale he! Tnews should have gone further and interviewed the company that was dealing with Apolosio. As the issue was very sensitive and really of public interest cross-questioning should have been used like asking - Apolosio what happened to that multi-million dollars construction that been built in Vava’u and left unfinished there way back 1990s? Are you repeating the history of the Toki family? Ueh! Ngalo ange foki kai ke ke kau koe he Toki ko e nge’esi taha koe ia Apo e. Ask the company whether Apolosio deposited any money? If there was any - How much did he deposit? Any receipt? Than from there Tnews should have flown to Tonga. Interview those people in the government who are in charge of such a project. From there Tnews would be seen as reliable and trustworthy by the public in the way how it informs them with news.
There was no posts that was of members concerned as much as this issue with Salesi Toki. People started to question ‘Apolosio and his big pulusiti project? I am grateful of the Kele’a for not running Apo's story. It’s one of the very basic things in media studies to consider the reputation of the media when relaying news. Because if it misleads the public like what Apo is doing that would be detrimental to its profile and public trusts. Thank you Kele’a for your fakapotopoto lahi!
But I think what drove Tnews to run this biggest bullSITI as news was the fact that Apolosio was really insistent and persistence in the way he hassled the media to consider his pretention campaign as news. I can’t believe that Setita was so naive as to trust ‘Apolosio. Because from the beginning he signed up by the name Salesi. After a while he came in as Salesi Apolosio. I successfully bluffed my way through in arguing with him and he ended up admitting that his name was Salesi Apolosio Toki.

People who are willing to perform such an important job for the nation like what Apolosio is doing would not prevaricate and beat around the bush too many times when he is questioned/criticised by the public. We say in Tongan as - I die my shame. Malie Vava’u mate he maa hoku Vava’u! Apolosio seemed to be leaping around the dark. Maumau ne misini! He is absolutely a public nuisance.
