Dr. Feleti Sevele, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga, will arrive today for his first official visit in the Philippines.
Sevele is scheduled to meet with President Arroyo in Malacañang at 11:30 a.m. today to reaffirm bilateral and diplomatic relations between the two Asia Pacific neighbors.
Sevele, the first commoner prime minister of the Pacific island monarchy, will be given military arrival honors at the Palace grounds, shortly before his meeting with the President.
Afterwards, President Arroyo will host a state luncheon for Sevele and his delegation in the Rizal Hall inside Malacañang.

I wonder just how much this is costing the Tongan tax payer to have Sevele and his delegation visit a "Neighbour"?
Was there any agenda or purpose of his visit? Does the public get to see the agenda or purpose of this visit?
I assume there will be meetings etc relating to "Trade" , "Development" and "Mutual Co-operation" (What ever that means)...I'm wondering if the public get to see the outomes of what the PM is trading for the benefit of Tongans.

This is a complete waste of public's tax payers money. How many times we hear them saying "Tonga is poor and doesn't have any money". On the other hand, we see they are living like millionares and billionares... Too many lies and twisted lies in the govt eh!!!!

It must be travel time for the ministers at the moment.
See Paul Karalus the Palangi minister is off overseas at a convention for the International Civil Aviation Ogranisation.
With all the ministers rushing off overseas to attend conventions, its obvuious that the country is able to operate without them...they are rarely here!
The overseas allowances for the ministers are very attractive I have heard. They receive around $150- $250 per day allowance while out of the country.
Fakatafa, I'm appalled at the low level of debate in this forum. And in particular topic, it seems to me you're trying to stir up something out of nothing. In fact, Tonga needs overseas support especially in this period of time hence one of the reasons for overseas Ministerial visits. The Hon. Ministers are not misusing the taxpayers money, in fact, they are working for the country while the parliament closed down. Unlike some members of the parliament.....I believe you have distorted views of what's really happening in Tonga. I'd like to kindly advise you, to please check your facts and make sure they are correct before you pass it on....

Why is it that each time someone questions your activities, you immediatley take offence?
The answers that I am seeking are those noted in my initial post- to which you took offence. Why are you offeneded by my simple questions Dr Sevele?
Why do such simple questions pose a huge issue for you. Is it too hard for you to speak the truth?
I recall what my parents always told me. When someone refuses to answer a question, but instead retaliates with abuse- it means one thing. They are lying and they have something to hide.
I suppose the question for you Dr Sevele is can you answer the questions I have posed previously? I encourage you to do so.
