On September 25th, His Majesty King Siaosi Tupou V (left) was the Guest of Honour at a special ceremony to commemorate the occasion of the completion of the renovation of the Tonga Temple at Liahona. Other guests at the ceremony included the Queen Mother, Hon. Fanetupouvava’u Tu’ivakanō, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Feleti Sevele, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Hon. Dr. Viliami Tangi, President Spencer Condie (Area President for the Pacific), church officials and members of the church.
In his address His Majesty said that the completion of the temple contributed to the glory of God.
Pacific Area President Spencer Condie and President Eric Shumway told Television Tonga news that the King was impressed with the Temple.
President Spencer Condie said that the King was pleased with the reflection of the temple as it features part of the Tongan culture and has a Polynesian touch which reflects Tonga.
