If a stranger on the street offers you something, you do accept it do you? No you seek to have the offer exposed first for you to make a judgement.
We go to the doctors and he tells us that we need an operation. We seek a second opinion.
When you go and borrow money from a bank, you first seek to have all the details explained before you make a decision...right?
When you go and buy a car, you look at the condition of the car and make an assessment first before you buy the car. We never accept what the salesman tells us...right?
Never do we trust anyone without first satisfying our need to have proof and evidence of anything.
This is human nature.
By default, we never trust politicians that govern our taxes and make decisions on our behalf...NEVER.
We seek first to have all the details explained and allow the politicians to also explain themselves.
This is called TRANSPARENCY.
All leaders must strive to be transparent to prove they have the best interests of the people.
Failure to be transparent only demonstrates that the PM has something to hide from us.
Continual lack of transpareny demonstrates corruption and cronyism.
If Sevele cannot be transparent, then he cannot be trusted. Fact of life.
Transparency is the beginning of Trust.

I hate to use the word "people". I prefer "public", for it is the last of options if we resort to the former.

Either way, I had suggested amending the 7th Clause of the Constitution, to include and legislate the Right of the Public to RECIEVE information, not just express views. If you look closely, that is the first stepping stone in building an accountable, legitimate, and trustworthy process and government.
ofa pe oku tokoni atu.
