The Tongan Law Society says it was not aware disgraced Auckland lawyer Christopher Harder had been barred from practising in New Zealand.
The controversial lawyer was struck off last year after admitting to professional misconduct.
Harder then vowed to reinvent himself and went to Tonga where he was granted a certificate to practice law.
