Six Ballarat residents have just returned home after helping to establish a dental clinic in Tonga.
The facility was built in Nukunuku and will now stop people in nearby villages having to travel to the island's main hospital.
Each day more than 100 people wait at the Nuku Alofa hospital in the hope they can get dental care.
The Ballarat West Rotary Club's David Goldsmith says it has been a rewarding project to be involved in.
"Petrol is expensive in Tonga," he said.
