Mr Prime Minister,
I am concerned with your announcement about the Auditor General’s investigation into the corruption allegations against the Minister of Tourism because you called a meeting for the Heads of Department’s and Ministers, and in that meeting you said “that little issue will be dealt with between the CEO of Tourism and Minister of Tourism” – I have a tape recorder of the meeting and this is what you said! I am attaching the memo from the CEO and corruption was committed but YOU are playing this down to save the Minister and yourself.
I am cc’ing this e-mail to the donor Government’s of NZ, Australia so they can see how corrupt you have become by not investigating this allegation properly – even after the memo was confirmed as being genuine. I also attach the document from the CEO of tourism so others can demand a FULL and proper INDEPENDENT investigation!
You sent for the CEO of tourism and accused him of betraying the Government – even though he was doing his job and to cover yourself – you forced him to retract or resign. He did not agree so you asked him to compromise by releasing a message to say that the allegations were between him and the Government.
I have no other choice but to reveal more of the corrupt practices in the hope that other countries and agencies can shed light on the issue and help our people to rid our Government of your corruption.
Allegation 1: Forum Expenditure Corruption – Molisi receives thousands in Government funds
Mr Prime Minister, why did you direct the Prime Minister’s Office to use only your supermarket Molisi for daily supplies for the forum? Molisi received close to $100,000 in purchases for the forum – even against Government guidelines to tender for this.
Allegation 2: PM’s business friends receive over $1million in Forum Funds & PMO staffs share $1m
Mr Prime Minister, why did you allow your Officers to pay the following suppliers who are your close friends from the forum funds:
• Office Equipment – owned by Ross Chapman and your closest friend and PSC member - $100,000
• Hasdra Drafting – owned by your Nuku’alofa Club business mates $300,000
• Fua ‘oe Fonua – owned by Minister of Transport Paul Karalus - $30,000
• Lanscaping of Faonelua – owned by wife of Minister of Transport - $20,000
• Group Construction – owned by your Nuku’alofa Club mates - $150,000
• PMO Staff family members employed for the Forum - $1 million
• Molisi Tonga – owned by YOU $100,000.
If you want more details I can provide and the names of all your staff and the approval letters were also taken by one of your senior staff who was incensed by this corruption. I have this with me.
Allegation 2: Deputy Prime Minister approving contracts for Director of Health’s brother $500,000
The second allegation Mr Prime Minister, is about your Deputy Prime Minister in his approving the Director of Health to contract his OWN brother to complete the Niu’ui Hospital project funded by the donors. The tendering process was a farce because the Minister, Dr Viliami Tangi, allowed the Director to sign the contract without due process and thereby awarding hundreds of thousands of dollars to his close relations.
Allegation 3: Your inappropriate conduct – pornographic innuendo in Sydney Australia’s Crown Plaza Hotel using Australian taxpayers money!
YOU Mr Prime Minister, have not responded to this accusation and I am still waiting for an answer. I have named the pornographic movies you watched (Bars and Stripes & Beauty and Senior about young females and older me!) while your senior officers were busy meeting the Australian Government officials to ask for more aid! Australia funded this trip and you used Australian taxpayers money to watch pornographic movies!
Allegation 4: Mr Rob Solomon and Mr Loyd Powell corruption (business partners)
You hired Mr Solomon to advise you funded for $200,000 by the donors and to also help your businesses. Mr Solomon in turn convinced you to hire his business partner, Mr Powell to be the head of Customs. If you deny this then check their website: http://www.solomonleonard.co.nz
At the Nuku’alofa Club, Mr Powell has told your business colleagues that the Prime Minister has directed that he releases the goods of businesses without the necessary duty payments – because this will help the country to grow! He has even done deals which is breaking the law and plundering the Customs department!
Molisi has two containers at the wharf ready for release – and YOU have directed the head of Customs to release without charge – even though your competitors have to pay the necessary fees! This is corruption to the max and Mr Powell has obliged because he is your Economic Advisor’s business partner!! And these two guys are being funded by the NZ and Asutralian Governments!
Allegation 5: Shoreline Corruption
You, Mr Prime Minister have already agreed to pay Shoreline $26m US WITHOUT following due process! This company is not worth even half of this because they were given the assets for free! Yet – to save your political skin and to ensure to stay as PM – you agreed to give the King and his Indian Princes $26 million plus more to COMPENSATE the King from not getting involved in business anymore!
Mr Prime Minister, it costs nearly $100,000 a month just to keep the King’s lifestyle which is over $1m a year and this is why he needs the money!! Why do you approve of this when on the otherhand you run to donors begging for help – even though you know full well how terrible the costs are in keeping the King happy?
Allegation 6: Threatening Heads of Departments
Mr Prime Minister, you called a meeting for Heads of Department’s last week where you threatened to fire anyone found to disagree with you – and to seek and destroy whistleblowers – even after the Solicitor General interjected and said that the law protects whistelblowers! Mr Prime Minister you are breaking the law!!
Allegation 7: Mobilisation of Army and Police
Mr Prime Minister, you have been meeting the Head of Defence and telling him to prepare to send troops to investigate and if necessary harm some of your main critics in Tonga – including the main People’s Reps!! Mr Prime Minister this is an outrage and is a sad indication of what you are prepared to do for your own interests! I hope the other countries help to avoid this because you are only interested in saving your skin!
Allegation 8: Taking over Treasury and Agriculture
Mr Prime Minister, why have you sacked your Finance Minister? I have been given documents showing why - and it it you specifically said to HM that you will make sure he gets whatever amount he wants for Shoreline - even though you know this will bankrupt the country! You also want to HIDE your approving of ALL the forum payments to your mates!!
Mr Prime Minister, you took over the Agriculture portfolio so that you can stop Quarantine from allowing travellers to import meat - even though we have no legal standing for this!! YOU are breaking the law!!
Whistleblowing
Your press releases failed to address any of my accusations and instead you are turning it around to say that I am the one that is bad. I am not the one who disgraced the nation but you. The laws of developing countries will protect me from this so I hope these letters will help to stop you from plundering our poor nation!
What about your insurance payout? You have received your payout – because you are also the official agent for one of the major Pacific insurers. You actually tried to convince government agencies to use your Insurer because you will get a commission for it. As Prime Minister – you should resign from being an agent.
You have a close relationship with Fletchers Construction – and this help them to be appointed to do some of the minor work at Dateline Hotel for over $200,000. They were also the ones who build your new house and you specifically told your senior officials to contract them - without tendering!
My letters will not be over until you address the accusations I have made. I am old and I love this nation – but I will not rest until the truth is revealed. My grand-daughter has been under pressure from this – but she knows that this is for the good of the nation – as you have always said.
