CALLS EXPLORER POORLY EQUIPPED TO AVOID ROLLOVER

The sons of a Tongan royal prince who died in a freeway accident filed a wrongful death lawsuit Monday against Ford Motor Co. while the trial of a Redwood City teenager accused of triggering the crash continued.
The lawsuit contends the 1998 Ford Explorer that carried Tongan Prince Uluvalu Tu'ipelehake, his wife, Princess Kaimana Tu'ipelehake, and their driver, Vinisia Hefa had a propensity to roll over and was not engineered to adequately protect passengers in such an event. The deadly accident occurred July 5 on Highway 101 in Menlo Park.
